Licensing Service Configuration Settings
Any ES Solution Component provided by Avoka Technologies is available under an evaluation license and a production license. License key information can be entered after the Solution Component is deployed.
- A production license allows a component to be used any number of times, in any workflow.
- An evaluation license restricts the number of times that a component can be used before requiring the component to be reset.
Licensing information can be entered and viewed in both Workbench and Adminui.
Editing License Information in Workbench
To view the licensing status for this Solution Component, ensure that the Components View is visible. To do this select "Window > Show Views > Components". Then, in "Components" view expand the '+' symbol next to this solution component and expand the "Active Services" section to see the list of services on offer. Right-click on a service in this list and select 'Edit Service Configuration ...' as shown below.

Enter the license key and organization name exactly as it appears in the license file provided to you by Avoka. Ensure that you don't have any leading or trailing characters, and that you don't accidentally swap the license key and the organization name.
After you have entered the license key and organization name, check that the Maximum Invocations and Maximum Lifespan are both set to -1, which means "forever".
If you do not have a license key, you can click the "Reset" button to provide an additional 6 hours/100 invocations, or you can restart the LiveCycle server.
Editing License Information in AdminUI
Log into AdminUI, and select Applications and Services, as shown below:

Select Service Management

Filter Avoka Components using Category Avoka.

One by one click on each service and enter the Licence Key and Organization Name exactly as provided to you by Avoka. Do not enter any lead or trailing spaces, and do not accidentally swap organization and key. Leave status blank.

Unfortunately there is no way of verifying that the license key is correct within AdminUI - you must either verify in Workbench, or simply verify that the component still works after more than 6 hours.
Evaluation License
If you don't enter any license key, the Solution Component will run in evaluation mode. The component will execute correctly for either 100 invocations, or 6 hours, whichever is least.
You can reset the currrent count by clicking the "Reset" button, or by restarting the server. If you require an evaluation license with a greater number of invocations or lifetime, for example to perform load testing, please contact sales@avoka.com.
Production License
When you purchase a production license, you indicate your organization name, and you will be sent a license key. You must enter the license-key and the license-organization name exactly as it is provided to you, otherwise the Solution Component will continue to run in evaluation mode.
Please contact sales@avoka.com for information on how to purchase a production license.
License Terms
Please see http://www.avoka.com/qpaclicense for full details on the latest Avoka QPAC license agreement. At the time of writing the most recent license is attached here: Avoka Livecycle Component License.
In summary, the license states:
- You can use the Solution Component for evaluation, development and testing purposes without a license.
- You must purchase a full license for production purposes. Licenses are generally granted on a per-cpu or per-server basis.
- By using this Solution Component, you agree to abide by the terms of this license agreement.
Warning - redeploying
Please be aware that re-deploying a component (whether a new version or the same version) will result in the license key being reset. It must then be re-entered.
