Strategy to Perform Migration from Development to Production Environment Involving LookupRoleUser DSC

Export process from development serveras LiveCycle Archive (.lca)

Once you have set up your process in the development server and tested with satisfied result, create a liveCycle archive (.lca) of the process by right click on the process and select "Create LiveCycle Archive ...".

Then it will pop up a dialog for you to specify where the destination of the process archive (.lca).

Import LiveCycle Archive (.lca) to production server

On the production server, login to its ADMIN CONSOLE application, and go to Services > Archive Administration > Archive Management, and click on "Import" button on the menu bar of that page.

Browse the file system to locate the process archive (.lca) file you have just exported from the development environment in the previous step, and click on "Preview" button, and then "Import" button, and finally click on "OK" button and the process archive is now imported to the production server.

Setting up roles for the imported process

Logon to the Worbench that connects to the production server, and you should see the imported process is now there. Edit the process.

When the process orchestration is displayed on Workbench for edit, click on the "Lookup Role User" operation step, and view its property. You will notice there is no roles listed in role combo box, even though you have selected the right process. It is because no roles have been created on the production server yet. Use the button "Add" and "Delete" to create or remove roles for the process. Once you have created all the roles required, make sure you select the right role for each "Lookup User Role" step.

Save the process and activate

Now the process is ready to go. Save it and activate it if it has not already been activated.
